Abstract
With a similar programmatic approach, the structure comprises two levels, each with independent entrances, indicating the potential residence of the owners on the first floor, while the second floor might be intended for rental. The floor plan is designed to meet the needs of a well-to-do, large middle-class family, as evidenced by the amenities in the reception area and the size of the spaces, including an office, living room, dining room, four bedrooms, and service areas. However, despite its extensive program, the lack of organization is evident in aspects such as zoning and circulations, suggesting the absence of an architect's intervention in the project. The floor plans take the shape of an inverted L, with some rooms facing the street and the majority organized along a longitudinal circulation, maintaining direct communication between them. The gallery, initially 1.50 m wide and later expanded to 2.28 m and 3.00 m in different sections, serves as a true double skin, providing limited natural ventilation and lighting to the rooms and functioning as an informal gathering space.
