Abstract
Este estudio, como parte de un más amplio conjunto de trabajos de investigación en la Línea de Historia de la Arquitectura relativas a la Arquitectura Religiosa en Valparaíso, desarrollados bajo la guía de la Arquitecto Myriam Waisberg I ., investigadora y profesora del Departamento de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Chile de Valparaíso, fija su objetivo general en servir como un dato más, a este hacer. Inscrito en los planes de estudio de La Carrera de Arquitectura de esta Universidad, este trabajo se desarrolla a partir de la elaboración de un programa previo tentativo limitado a la duración de un semestre lectivo, que, capaz de fijar una unidad de análisis precisa para el universo particular definido en el estudio de la Capilla de la Providencia de Valparaíso, plantee y responda de modo satisfactorio, poniendo en claro la utilización del material Histórico-Arquitectónico, a una actitud metódica de análisis. Se cita, en lo que se refiere a bibliografía las obras que de alguna manera han servido de fuente directa para la exposición , siendo indudablemente las alusiones bibliográficas no completas, pero sí para los intereses generales de este trabajo.
This study is part of a larger research project on Religious Architecture in Valparaíso, Chile. It was conducted under the guidance of Architect Myriam Waisberg I., a researcher and professor in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Chile in Valparaíso. The overall objective of the study is to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on Religious Architecture in Valparaíso. The study is part of the curriculum for the architecture program at the University of Chile in Valparaíso. It was developed based on a preliminary program limited to the duration of one semester. The program established a precise unit of analysis for the study of the Chapel of the Providence in Valparaíso. It also outlined a methodological approach to the analysis of the historical and architectural material. The bibliography of the study includes works that were used as direct sources for the exposition. The bibliography is not exhaustive, but it is sufficient for the general purposes of the study.
