Abstract
La configuración inicial del plano responde a las necesidades de una familia numerosa y a las actividades políticas y sociales del propietario. El primer nivel alberga las áreas de recepción y servicio; el segundo nivel, los dormitorios; y el tercero, dos dormitorios más íntimos.
La casa está situada en una ladera, a una altura de 5,85 m. El espacio intermedio entre la casa y el terreno se trata como un jardín ascendente. La ubicación destaca la presencia volumétrica de la casa y proporciona una perspectiva excepcional que se extiende hasta el mar.
La estructura de la casa está hecha de pino oregón. Esta madera también se utiliza en la mayoría de las terminaciones, incluyendo puertas y ventanas, así como en los entablados de piso y techo. Además, se emplean otras maderas en cornisas, molduras y rosetones.
The initial layout configuration responds to the needs of a large family and the political and social activities of the owner. The first floor houses the reception and service areas; the second floor, the bedrooms; and the third floor, two more intimate bedrooms. The house is located on a hillside, at a height of 5.85 m. The intermediate space between the house and the land is treated as an ascending garden. The location highlights the volumetric presence of the house and provides an exceptional perspective that extends to the sea. The structure of the house is made of oregon pine. This wood is also used in most of the finishes, including doors and windows, as well as in the floor and ceiling decking. In addition, other woods are used in cornices, moldings, and rosettes.
